About
A Cambridge resident for over 20 years, Shahzada Jalal Khan brings more than a decade of municipal engineering experience, a strong understanding of public projects, and a commitment to community service.
Before coming to Canada, Shahzada spent 12 years as a municipal project engineer, working alongside mayors and councillors to evaluate projects, manage priorities, and ensure public resources were used wisely.
As a candidate for Mayor of Cambridge, he is ready to bring that hands-on municipal experience, engineering expertise, and community-first approach to City Hall - working to strengthen local services, support families, grow Cambridge’s economy, and plan for a stronger future.

His education has given him valuable insight into infrastructure, sustainable development, environmental responsibility, and long-term planning—key priorities for a growing city like Cambridge. As Mayor, he will use this experience to make informed decisions, support responsible growth, improve city infrastructure, and build a stronger future for Cambridge.

As a Director of the Canadian Pakistani Pakhtoon Community Association (CPPCA), Shahzada Jalal Khan has dedicated his time to community service, advocacy, and bringing people together. His volunteer leadership has strengthened his understanding of the needs and concerns of diverse families and communities.
This experience reflects the kind of leadership Cambridge needs—a Mayor who listens to residents, brings people together, supports local communities, and turns community concerns into meaningful action.
12 Years of Municipal Engineering Experience Overseas
Before moving to Canada, Shahzada Jalal Khan spent 12 years as a Municipal Project Engineer in his home country, working on infrastructure and municipal development projects and collaborating closely with mayors, municipal councils, and local government officials.
This experience gave him a firsthand understanding of municipal leadership, public infrastructure, community planning, and the importance of working with residents and stakeholders to get things done.
Today, that experience provides a strong foundation for his vision as Mayor of Cambridge: responsible growth, better infrastructure, effective city planning, and a municipal government that listens, works together, and delivers for residents.

As a longtime Cambridge resident and parent, he understands the city not just as a place to live, but as a community where families grow, children build their futures, and neighbours come together. This personal connection to Cambridge shapes his vision as Mayor: a safe, welcoming, family-focused city with strong neighbourhoods, responsible growth, and opportunities for the next generation.
